Closer to the grassroots

Committees formed to bring the organization nearer to the children it is for

Kochi Konther Asar works through district committees that bring its support closer to the families it serves. Eleven committees are at work today, each rooted in its own community, and together they help carry the organization’s vision into every one of Bangladesh’s sixty-four districts.

  • Eleven district committees at work across Bangladesh
  • They work with local communities to identify children’s needs
  • They bring access to education and care closer to home
  • A growing network, ready to welcome new communities into the work

Each committee is rooted in its own community, working with local schools, families and volunteers to reach the children who need support most. Together the eleven form a local network that keeps the organization close to the districts it serves — and that network is built to grow.

What a district committee is for

The district committees are a step towards strengthening child welfare, formed to support children in rural areas. They work closely with local communities to identify children’s needs, to ensure access to education and care, and to help turn children’s dreams into goals they can actually reach.

This is what bringing support closer to the grassroots means in practice, and it is part of a commitment to inclusive development in which no child is left behind regardless of where they live. Each committee draws its strength from the community it serves — local educators, parents and volunteers who know their district’s children by name — and works hand in hand with the organization’s wider structure, so that national ambition and local knowledge always meet.

Reaching further

Eleven committees, and a vision for all sixty-four districts

The eleven district committees are one part of a much larger reach: through its Pothokoli Schools, Kochi Konther Asar has carried education into all sixty-four districts of Bangladesh.

The committees are how that national reach stays local — each one a bridge between the organization and the families around it, turning a countrywide commitment into support a child can actually feel. As more communities come forward to carry the work, the network grows with them, so that help for children is never something delivered from a distance but something owned close to home.
